Councillor Janet Haslett-Theall was acclaimed as Regional and Town Councillor for Ward 3 in 2022. She had served since 2018 as Town Councillor for Ward 3. Councillor Haslett-Theall is a proud graduate of Trent University and Rotman School of Management in Strategic Human Resources, with her Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. She has worked as a Human Resources professional for 30 years; the last twenty as a consultant/ombudsperson for manufacturing, small business and professional services. As an active community volunteer during the past 16 years, Councillor Haslett-Theall served as Chair of the EJ James Public School Council and President of the Joshua Creek Residents Association. She was co-founder of a coalition of 11 Resident Associations with the challenge to champion fair geographic distribution of community services. This volunteer effort resulted in Town Council’s approval of two community centres: Trafalgar Park Community Centre (the old Oakville Arena) and Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre. Councillor Haslett-Theall is a passionate advocate for responsible land planning and development within our authority and has worked tirelessly to create and maintain a municipality with a focus on livability. She says we must respect our past while making thoughtful decisions for the generations to come and that will continue to guide her actions and efforts as Regional and Town Councillor.
